Éryk Pruitt est un auteur, scénariste et réalisateur très accompli. Il a écrit plusieurs romans de fiction criminelle et d'horreur primés et a vu sa fiction courte publiée dans de nombreuses revues telles que Pulp Modern, Avalon Literary Review et Zymbol. Pruitt a été finaliste pour le prix Derringer pour sa nouvelle "Knockout" et a été nommé deux fois pour le Pushcart Prize. Ses romans incluent "Dirtbags", "Hashtag", "What We Reckon" et "Something Bad Wrong".
En plus de son travail écrit, Pruitt est un réalisateur accompli et a produit plusieurs courts métrages primés, dont "Foodie" et "Liyana, On Command". Il a également produit et écrit le podcast en huit parties, vrai crime "The Long Dance" sur les meurtres de la Saint-Valentin en Caroline du Nord. Pruitt réside actuellement à Hillsborough, en Caroline du Nord, où il peut souvent être trouvé à son bureau en train de travailler sur sa dernière histoire ou de mélanger des boissons à son bar, Yonder.
Pruitt anime également "The Crime Scene with Eryk Pruitt", une émission et un podcast mensuels.
