Sarah Moss est une autrice très respectée dans les domaines du non-fiction, de la littérature et de la fiction, réputée pour ses œuvres réfléchies et captivantes. Elle est née à Glasgow, en Écosse, et a passé son enfance aux États-Unis et en Angleterre. Moss a obtenu son diplôme de premier cycle à l'Université d'Oxford et a poursuivi ses études pour obtenir un doctorat à l'Université de Lancaster.
Moss a écrit six romans, dont "Cold Earth", "Night Waking", "Bodies of Light", "Signs for Lost Children", "The Tidal Zone" et "Ghost Wall". Ses romans "Night Waking" et "Cold Earth" ont tous deux été nominés pour le prix Fiction Uncovered 2011, tandis que "The Tidal Zone" a été présélectionné pour le prestigieux Wellcome Prize Award. "Ghost Wall", publié en septembre 2018, est l'un de ses ouvrages les plus connus.
Outre son travail de fiction, Moss a également écrit une mémoire sur son année passée en Islande, intitulée "Names for the Sea". Cette mémoire a été présélectionnée pour le RSL Ondaatje Prize en 2013. Moss est actuellement professeure de création littéraire à l'Université de Warwick en Angleterre. Son travail a été largement salué pour sa représentation perspicace et évoquant les expériences et relations humaines, ainsi que pour son exploration de questions sociales et culturelles complexes.
