Tessa Gratton est une autrice très respectée, née à Okinawa, au Japon, en 1980. Elle a grandi sur des bases militaires à travers le monde en raison de la carrière de son père dans la Marine américaine. Finalement, Gratton s'est installée aux États-Unis, où elle a poursuivi des études supérieures à l'Université du Kansas et a obtenu un baccalauréat ès arts en études de genre en 2003.
Gratton s'est imposée comme une autrice éminente dans le domaine de la science-fiction et du fantastique (SFF) pour adultes et jeunes adultes. Son travail a été largement reconnu et apprécié, plusieurs de ses romans et histoires courtes ayant été traduits en vingt-deux langues. Deux de ses œuvres notables ont été nominées pour le prix Otherwise, et beaucoup ont été sélectionnées pour le Junior Library Guild. Ses romans les plus récents incluent les contes de fées sombres et queer "Strange Grace" et "Night Shine", ainsi que la réinterprétation queer de Shakespeare "Lady Hotspur."
Les projets récents de Gratton incluent le fantasy YA "Chaos and Flame", publié en 2023, et plusieurs romans de la série "Star Wars: The High Republic".
